Staging Folklore at the Wexford Opera House

I travelled to Wexford in March 10th to present a paper at the "Music for Stage and Screen" Symposium being held by the Society of Music in Ireland to celebrate the 20th year of their organisation. While an honour to be asked to present a paper on the recent "Staged Folklore" Publication I was really delighted to get to take a look around the Opera House itself.

I was very impressed by the facilities and even more so at the level of community engagement in the Opera Festival. The manager praised the input of over 400 local volunteer and commented on the towns participation in fire works on the opening night of the festival. An amazing achievement by all.
