Susan is a music teacher who offers individual and small group tuition in instrumental music and music theory.
She started her teaching career at the Kerry School of Music in 1996, teaching concertina and concert flute. She recently established her own TuneSchool in Tralee to share her love of classical and Irish traditional music.
Susan has significant classroom teaching experience at both second and third level. She has a diverse skill range which encompasses music theory, composition & arrangement, and music studies (Irish traditional, popular & world music).
She is an advocate for inclusive music education and integrating technology into the music classroom. She uses online tools and packages such as Pro Tools, Ableton, Bandlab and Sibelius to enable creativity. She has also adopted the use of Skype and other platforms to make her teaching more accessible.
Susan's performance ability, her relationship with pupils and her H.Dip in Education has led to numerous engagements as an adjudicator and results authenticator.
