Teacher

Susan offers individual and group lessons in concertina, flute,

music theory and audio production.

She started her teaching career at the Kerry School of Music in 1996, teaching concertina and concert flute. She recently established her TuneSchool in Tralee to share her love of classical and Irish traditional music with all age groups.

Susan has significant classroom teaching experience at both second and third level. She has a diverse skill range which encompasses music performance, music theory, composition & arrangement, music studies (Irish traditional, popular & world music) and audio production (Pro Tools, Ableton, Podcasting and Audio Advertising).

She is an advocate for inclusive music education and integrating technology into the music classroom. She uses online tools and packages such as Pro Tools, Reaper, Ableton, Bandlab, Sibelius and Musescore to enable creativity. She has also adopted the use of Zoom and other platforms to make her teaching more accessible.

Susan's performance ability, her relationship with pupils and her H.Dip in Education has led to numerous engagements as an adjudicator and results authenticator.
